"We Few, We Happy Few, We Band of Brothers."

I just got back from walking through the town. With magnificent stone buildings surrounding the horizon as I strolled down the street, I cannot help but to think about how blessed I am to be here. There are people who spend their entire lives within one place, yet I find myself in Great Britain. Elevators are known as Lifts. Breakfasts can include baked beans and cooked mushrooms. Sinks have separate spouts for hot and cold water. On a daily basis, the little things remind me about how amazing it is to be studying in Oxford.

Being essentially a college town, Oxford has a bounty of little shops with great foods to try. So last night of few of us went to a food shop that sells homemade ice-cream. It was delicious.

We followed this up by seeing a performance of Henry the V. Considering that it rains quite often, the show began outside in the hopes that the rain would cease. Yet as it continued, it became apparent to the show’s organizers that it needed to moved inside. Being a community play, some actor’s performances proved better than others. Nevertheless, it is interesting to consider as one watches a Shakespearian play the phrases from Shakespeare that have found their way into the everyday language of English speaking peoples everywhere.

On another note, the food over here has been amazing. Everyday, we enjoy breakfast and lunch prepared by one of Herford’s phenomenal chefs. This alone has been introducing us to British dishes and flavors.

Enjoying our amazing fish and chips today!
